OPPO Find X5 Pro
Best overall OPPO phone
Surprise, surprise, the best OPPO phone also happens to be the brand's current premium flagship, the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
At $1,799, the Find X5 Pro is by no means cheap, but it’s on par with the top-of-the-range devices from the likes of Apple and Samsung when it comes to specs and it works hard to give you your money’s worth. Plus, from time to time, it goes on sale, bringing the price down towards a more reasonable $1000 or so.
From its flawless display and space-age design to its snappy performance and the most exciting camera kit we’ve seen in a long time, the OPPO Find X5 Pro is one of the best smartphones Australians can buy right now.
Still, it's hard to overlook the high price tag attached. If you'd prefer to pick up the device on a post-paid mobile plan to make the asking price more digestible, check out the widget below for a round-up of the best plans for the OPPO Find X5 Pro.

A breakdown of the different families of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, what sets them apart, and what they’re best at.
OPPO Reno8 Lite 5G
Best cheap OPPO phone
There’s quite a large gap in pricing between OPPO’s flagship devices and their more affordable mid-rangers, but outside of the Find X3 Pro and Find X3 Neo, we reckon the Reno8 Lite 5G is the best cheap OPPO phone.
The OPPO Reno4 5G was one of the cheapest 5G phones available in Australia back when it launched and while the Reno8 Lite 5G can't make the same claim to fame, there's still a lot to like about what's on offer here. The OPPO Reno8 Lite 5G promises to deliver long battery life, beautiful photos, ultra-fast charging and a standout design.
OPPO Find X3 Pro
Best OPPO phone under $1000
It’s just been superseded by the Find X5 Pro, but in our opinion, the OPPO Find X3 Pro still gives the big guns a run for their money. At launch in March 2021, it retailed for a whopping $1,699, but nowadays you can find it for a lot less.
The Find X3 Pro blew us away with its incredible camera (and especially impressive zoom), big, beautiful 120Hz display, stellar performance, stylish design and unique microscope lens camera.
OPPO Find X5 Lite
Best OPPO phone under $800
If you can't stretch your budget to accommodate either OPPO's latest flagship or its predecessor, you might be able to find what you're looking for with the Find X5 Lite.
Priced at an RRP of $799, the Find X5 Lite lacks the wireless charging and MariSilicon image processor found in its siblings. However, if you're enticed by the idea of more tangible inclusions like a headphone jack, expandable storage and longer battery life, you'll likely come away happy with the trade-offs made here.
If you'd rather avoid paying for the OPPO Find X5 Lite outright and would prefer to pick up the device on a postpaid plan, you can find a round-up of the best plans below.
OPPO A94 5G
Best OPPO phone under $600
There’s no specific standout selling point for the OPPO A94 5G, but it’s a highly capable phone that runs like a dream for days at a time and it looks damn good doing it. It's a solid all-rounder that sports impressive battery life with fast charging, a snappy processor and a price-tag that's a lot leaner than the one found with OPPO's Find X5 lineup.
So long as you don't mind working with a 60Hz refresh rate and 128GB of on-board storage, the OPPO A94 5G will get you pretty far for $599. The device is also available on a post-paid plan through Telstra, so check out the widget below for further details.
OPPO A77 5G
Best OPPO phone under $500
It's no match for the OPPO A94, but the OPPO A77 5G punches well above its $449 price tag. There's more to like here than just next-generation connectivity on a budget.
With a new design that sets it apart from OPPO devices of the past, the A77 5G packs impressive specs like a 6.5-inch HD+ 90Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor, a 5,000mAh battery, 6GB RAM, and more.
We don't know if we’d go so far as to say it’s the best phone under $500 from any brand. But as far as OPPO goes, the A77 5G is a knockout.
OPPO A96
Best OPPO phone under $400
There’s not much separating the OPPO A94 5G and the A96, but there are a few key points to consider if you're tossing up between the two thrifty handsets.
The A96 is certainly cheaper at just $399, but you do miss out on a couple of a few of the perks that come attached to the A94 5G. The OPPO A96 boasts a larger 6.59-inch FHD+ 90Hz display and while it matches the A94 5G for RAM and on-board storage, it lacks the next-generation connectivity found in its counterpart.
Still, there’s no arguing with that price. If $400 is your limit, then the OPPO A96 offers a plenty of bang for your buck.
OPPO A54s
Best OPPO phone under $300
The OPPO A54s does a brilliant job of playing to the brand's usual strengths. It brings together snappy hardware, smart software and a solid price-point. It's not going to reinvent the wheel and it doesn't have 5G, but it will certainly fit the bill for budget buyers looking to spend no more than $300 on their next smartphone.
Those who can afford to stretch their budget are unlikely to be disappointed with the results, but those who cannot should be able to do more than merely make do with what the OPPO A54s delivers.
OPPO phones we also considered
For some, the middle child of OPPO's latest flagship roster is likely to be a solid alternative to the top dog. While it can't match the photography prowess of the pricey Find X5 Pro, key spec improvements help make the Find X5 a more than capable alternative to the latest and greatest from Apple and Samsung.
OPPO phone FAQs
Our take is that Oppo phones are more than just good. They're some of the best Android devices out there when it comes to the hardware involved, though the software can be something of an acquired taste for some.

Our current pick for the best OPPO phone in Australia is the flagship OPPO Find X5 Pro.
Which is better: OPPO or Samsung? The answer really depends on which devices you're comparing and how much you're looking to spend. While the Galaxy S22 might fare poorly against the Find X5, the Find X5 Lite is a less compelling alternative to the Samsung Galaxy A73.
OPPO phones are not made by Samsung. However, in some cases, they may incorporate components made by Samsung. For example, the OPPO Find N relies on a foldable display manufactured by Samsung.
