Amazon has inked a deal that'll see Apple TV Plus join the roster of streaming services available through Amazon Prime Video Channels.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Prime Video chief Mike Hopkins revealed the deal at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference earlier this week. Based on his comments at that event, Apple TV Plus originals like Ted Lasso and For All Mankind may be available to stream via Amazon Prime as soon as later this month.

In a statement, Apple's senior VP of services Eddy Cue talked up the potential of the deal to help get Apple TV Plus in front of a wider audience.

“We want to make Apple TV+ and its award-winning library of series and films from the world’s greatest storytellers available to as many viewers as possible,” he said.

If you're not familiar, Prime Video Channels are an optional add-on for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. These channels allow you to bundle additional content from other streaming services into your Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Doing so won’t necessarily save you any extra money on top of the usual cost of Prime, but it will allow you to access more content within a single app rather than having to juggle multiple accounts across several subscription services. Expect Apple TV Plus to follow this formula to a tee.

Given that it's already been confirmed that Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to sign up for the service via Prime Video Channels at its usual price-point, it seems unlikely that Aussies will get any sort of special treatment or discounts. Once it does turn up alongside the likes of Starz and AMC Plus, signing up for Apple TV Plus through Amazon Prime Video Channels will probably cost you the same $12.99 per month it does elsewhere.
