How to cancel Netflix in 4 simple steps
Whether it’s the repeated price hikes since Netflix first launched in Australia, the constant TV show cancellations or the fact that sharing your password will now cost you an additional $7.99 per month, there are plenty of reasons you might be thinking of taking a break from the streamer that started it all. Thankfully, cancelling your Netflix account couldn’t be easier. Below you’ll find four quick steps to cancelling your Netflix subscription, but before we begin, consider trialling the following streaming service alternatives.

Step 3: Cancel Membership
On the left side of the Account page, under where it says ‘Account’ and 'Membership & Billing,' click the grey button that says ‘Cancel Membership’. On mobile devices, you might need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the cancel button.
Step 4: Confirm cancellation
On the next screen, you will see a message that says 'It’s easy to cancel or switch plans,' you’re not here to switch plans. Click the blue 'Finish cancellation' button in the box where it gives you your final billing date (e.g. when the service will be deactivated). This part of the process is identical on desktop browsers and mobile devices.
Done. You’ve officially cancelled your Netflix subscription. You will still be able to access it until the end of your billing period (because you’ve already paid for it).
When you come crawling back...
At this stage, your access to Netflix will officially end at the end of your current billing period. However, Netflix will hold on to your account, including your settings, preferences and watchlist, for 10 months after cancelling. After that, you will need to create a brand-new account.
