Binge is currently the only traditional streaming service in Australia that offers Elvis. Foxtel and Foxtel Now also offer Elvis, but those services cost a lot more and offer mostly the same movie catalogue.

If you don't have a Binge subscription, you still have a few options for streaming Elvis in Australia.

Services like Apple TV and Amazon offer the option to buy or rent a digital 4K copy of Elvis for a once-off cost.

Heads Up

Renter beware

If you are renting Elvis on digital platforms, take note of the rental duration. Typically you have a longer window to start streaming your rental but once you press play, you usually have between 48 and 72 hours to finish the flick before your access is restricted.

Elvis release dates in Australia

Baz Luhrmann's Elvis officially hit Australian theatres 23 June 2022. A few months later, it was released on DVD and home digital in September of the same year.

  • Elvis theatrical release: 23/06/2022
  • Elvis DVD, Blu-ray and digital release:  21/09/2023
  • Elvis streaming release: 21/03/2023 (Binge)

What is Elvis about?

Austin Butler shakes his thang, Tom Hanks has a weird Dutch twang.

It's been a big few years for biopics. Just last year, we got the deadly serious retelling of J. Robert Oppenheimer's life story, courtesy of Chrissy Nolan, and a lengthy look at history's favourite short king Napoleon.  But the year before that, we got a bombastic biopic about another kind of King, the one and only Elvis Aaron Presley.

We don't need to tell you about the Elvis legacy. His hip gyrations alone could bring a continent to its knees (Napoleon would've loved him.) But Baz Lurhmann's 2022 biopic isn't as concerned with the well-documented zeitgeist surrounding Elvis as it is with the man behind the black quiff.

Austin Butler plays the man and myth in Lurhmann's sparkly cinematic expedition, accompanied by Tom Hanks in the role of Colonel Tom Parker, Presley's money-hungry manager.

While the recently released Priscilla focuses mainly on the roma... arrangement between Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu (played by Cailee Spaeny,) 2022's Elvis is a Baz Lurhmann joint through and through. A sequined spectacle that spans each decade that Elvis Presley walked god's green earth. If you know Baz, you know what you're in for.

What is Binge?

Binge is probably the best way to get Foxtel's premium drama and blockbuster movies these days. Even better now that it offers 4K streaming on its Standard and Premium plans.
