How to watch Hot Frosty in Australia this Christmas

All I want for Christmas is the contact details for Dustin Milligan's personal trainer. Hot Frosty is streaming on Netflix.

Netflix has carved out a nice little niche for itself with its modestly budgeted Christmas rom-coms that would look right at home on the Hallmark Channel. Holidate, Last Christmas and Christmas Inheritance have all made a splash during the festive season in years past, but one of Netflix's Christmas movies this year is making a different kind of impression. Hot Frosty flips the typical Jack Frost tale on its head: instead of a man turning into a snowman, Hot Frosty sees a snowman transform into a man. Not just any man, a particularly jacked Dustin Milligan (Schitts Creek,) who is brought to life by Hallmark royalty Lacey Chabert.

Where to watch Hot Frosty online in Australia

Streaming exclusively on Netflix.

As a Netflix original, Hot Frosty is exclusive to the service and it's already available to stream. Netflix plans in Australia start at $7.99 per month if you can handle some ad interruptions, otherwise the first ad-free tier is Netflix Standard, which gives you HD streaming on two devices under the same roof (Netflix has really cracked down on password sharing.) If you want to see Dustin Milligan's throbbing biceps in the highest quality available, Netflix Premium will give you 4K streaming on four streams for $25.99 per month.

What is Hot Frosty about?

A raunchy twist on the frigid Jack Frost tale.

There have been more than a few variations on the Jack Frost/Frosty the Snowman tale. There's the neglectful rockstar Dad turned snowman (Jack Frost, 1998) and there's the serial killer turned killer snowman (also Jack Frost, 1997.)

Hot Frosty is more of a twist on the Frosty the Snowman classic. Except rather than a snowman just coming to life, Hot Frosty's snowman transforms into a naked man with about two per cent body fat and abs you could roast some marshmallows over.

When a widowed Lacey Chabert places a magical red scarf on a particularly ripped snowman sculpture, it comes to life as an equally ripped Dustin Milligan (who fans will recognise from Schitts Creek.) What follows is a series of temperature-based jokes, horny housewives and maybe, just maybe, a touch of romance.

While Hot Frosty has all the sheen of a typical Hallmark Christmas movie, Netflix has courted some serious comedic talent for this year's so-bad-it's-good festive flick: not only is the seasoned lovable hunk Dustin Milligan in the lead role, but Eastbound & Down's Katy Mixon Greer and Craig Robinson also make an appearance, as does Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Joe Lo Truglio.

How to stream Netflix US

Hot Frosty (and the rest of the Christmas flicks mentioned) are all streaming on Netflix Australia. But Netflix Australia and Netflix US aren't identical, and the US version actually gets access to more titles overall.  You can technically access the American library with a VPN. Not every VPN will get you in but we've had a lot of success with NordVPN

Note: While not illegal, using a VPN to bypass geo-blocked content libraries is against Netflix's terms of service, so there's a chance you will have your account blocked if you attempt to sign in to an international Netflix library from Australia
