It may be called American football in Australia, but NFL is a very popular sport to stream Down Under (despite the time difference).
Where to watch NFL in Australia
There are many types of football in Australia. Perhaps too many. First, there’s soccer. Then there’s NRL, AFL and rugby union. Outside of Australia, the National Football League (NFL) is a big deal in the USA and other parts of the world. You may call it gridiron or American football, but whatever the name, this page is all about how to stream NFL in Australia, including on some of the best sports streaming services.

Watch NFL online in Australia
Watch NFL matches on Kayo Sports, 7plus or with the NFL Game Pass International.
Just because NFL matches are streaming from the other side of the world, doesn’t mean you need to pay a cent to watch them. Your first stop for NFL matches is 7plus, which doesn’t cost a cent to create an account and get streaming with select NFL matches.
For a larger offering, Foxtel Now and Kayo Sports have the following choices for American football streams:
- NFL
- XFL
- NCAA College Football
- USFL
Note that not every NFL match is available to stream on Kayo or Foxtel Now. But you can expect an average of six games per week, plus all of the playoff matches. In terms of costs, you’re looking at either $54 a month to cover the base subscription cost and the Sport channel add-on for Foxtel Now (two simultaneous HD streams). Alternatively, here’s how the Kayo Sports monthly pricing looks:
- Kayo One: $25 for one HD stream
- Kayo Basic: $35 for two simultaneous 4K streams
Alternatively, Fetch TV offers access to NFL matches via ESPN. Pay $6 per month for the Fetch TV Vibe Pack, otherwise ESPN is also included with the $20-per-month Ultimate Pack. You’ll need the actual Fetch TV set-top box first, though. Buy one from a participating retailer to use with any form of broadband internet (3Mbps or faster) or bundle one with an NBN plan from an eligible provider. The NBN providers below offer Fetch TV as a bundle add-on.
If you’re big on NFL, though, the best way to watch all matches in Australia is with NFL Game Pass International. At the time of writing, the NFL Game Pass International plan was being rejigged for 2023, so pricing was unavailable. Using 2022 pricing as a guide, the cost was US$99.99 with a seven-day trial. That price includes all matches from the preseason, regular season and playoffs.
How else can I stream NFL in Australia?
With a virtual private network (VPN) service, it’s possible to bypass geoblocks for streaming services in other countries by switching the IP address of a VPN-connected device. Connect to a Canadian VPN server, for instance, and you should be able to access NFL games with a DAZN subscription.
Alternatively, you can use a US VPN connection with services like Hulu, Peacock TV and Paramount Plus to access NFL matches. You do have to be willing to pay extra for a live channel package, though. If that’s of interest, try one of the VPNs below, which worked well in my tests with US streaming services (though be wary of coverage blackouts):
The other international VPN streaming option is with UK service My5. Connect to a UK VPN to stream Monday Night Football matches for free. Try UK streaming with one of the VPN options below:
- Windscribe
- ExpressVPN
- NordVPN
- IPVanish
- PrivadoVPN
- Hola VPN
- CyberGhost VPN
Watch the Super Bowl in Australia
You’ve got options for watching the annual Super Bowl in Australia. The free way is to use 7plus, which streams the Super Bowl on the second Sunday of February each year. Alternatively, the Super Bowl also streams on Kayo Sports and Foxtel Now. If you have an active season subscription to NFL Game Pass International, the Super Bowl is available for streaming there, too.
