Where to watch the Reacher series in Australia

Amazon Prime Video's Reacher is a series about ex-military drifter Jack Reacher. The same Jack Reacher as the one played by Tom Cruise in two movies. Based on a series of Lee Childs' novels, this Jack Reacher bares no relation to Jack Ryan, the ex-marine played by John Krasinski in another Prime Video original (also Chris Pine, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Alec Baldwin in seperate Tom Clancy movies.)

So with all that in mind, if the Google mystics have somehow led you to the right place, you'll be happy to know there's only one place you can find the Reacher series streaming in Australia and that's with an Amazon Prime Video subscription.

As an original production, seasons one and two of Reacher are streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon Prime Video is a streaming service at the more affordable end of the scale. It includes all the premium bells and whistles, like 4K HDR originals, for a fraction of the cost when compared to services like Netflix. 

As is often the case with streaming originals, Amazon has released the first season of Reacher all at once on the 5th of February 2022. However, the second season launched with three episodes on 16 December 2023 while the following five episodes were released on a weekly basis up until 19 January 2024.

It's fairly safe to assume that season three will follow a similar path as season two at this point. Season three has started filming and while there's no confirmation on release dates, Reacher season 3 is likely to drop between December 2024 and January 2025 if it sticks to its current cadence. 

Adapted from Lee Childs' crime thriller novels (specifically Killing Floor and Bad Luck and Trouble,) Reacher follows the exploits of the ex-military cop come helpful drifter in his calorie-killing journey across the US of A.

Season one sees Mr Reacher accused of coldblooded murder in rural Georgia before teaming up with the local cops to help find out who really done it... with his fists. Season two, on the other hand, follows Reacher to New York Citay where he assembles the old crew to investigate a murder... with his fists. 

While both seasons of Reacher has an a fairly meaty overarching story, many episodes follow the old pummelling-of-the-week structure.

Watching this blow-in beat the living snot out of no-good scum each and every week is what keeps viewers coming back for more.
