Telemarketers. We love to hate them. Though many are just regular folks trying to make a living, the current state of phone scams has thrown fuel on the fire that is red hot hatred for cold calling. HBO's new three-part docuseries Telemarketers casts a few of these everyday villains as heroes in their own story; regular employees trying to get to the bottom of a multi-tiered telemarketing scam.

The young cub Binge is usually expected to share its distributed dinner with Mumma Bear Foxtel, Telemarketers is one HBO hit that the streamer gets to itself.

If you don't already have Binge, your first taste is free. You can try before you buy with a two-week free trial of Binge, which is plenty of time to watch Telemarketers before you're asked to pay anything. If you do let your free trial slip, you'll be asked to pay $10 per month at least. That gives you Binge Basic with Ads, which we don't recommend. The sweet spot is with Binge's Standard plan. Sure it costs $16 per month, but it gets you HD streaming, and most importantly, no ads. It's easily the best Binge plan available.

What is HBO's Telemarketers about?

Partly produced by the Safdie Brothers (Uncut Gems,) Telemarketers is a three-part docuseries from HBO that follows two office workers at a telemarketing call center committed to finding out exactly what it is they are selling.

Starting in 2001, the two subjects are led to believe they are raising funds for firefighter and police charities in New Jersey before uncovering the truth behind the shady operation that pays their wage.

Here's HBO's official summary:

"The 20-year journey of office buddies, who stumble upon the truth behind the work they've been doing at a seedy call centre and vow to expose the American telemarketing industry."
