You may have seen stories going around about an Aldi coffee machine recall, but fear not, it does not affect machines available in Australia.

The supermarket giant issued a recall for Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers sold in 38 states in the USA. This followed multiple incidents of the device "expel[ing] hot water from the top of the machine", causing a severe burn risk.

These coffee machines are entirely seperate to any of Aldi's coffee machines sold here in Australia. Aldi's pod coffee machine (the Expressi), and its Special Buys coffee machines by De'Longhi are not, and have never been recalled as a hazard.

Another Ambiano product sold locally through the supermarket did however face recalls earlier this year. In February the Ambiano Soft serve icecream machine, which was one of Aldi's Special Buys, was found to have a clear coolant which could leak into the ice cream mixture during operation.

If you happen to have one of those laying in wait for the Summer months, you can still get a full refund from your nearest Aldi store, but your coffee machine is absolutely fine.
