Among two other robot vacuums, Ecovacs unveiled the Deebot N20 Pro Plus featuring a clear dust canister on the base station. This kind of design choice has long been prominent with Dyson products, with the vacuum giant featuring transparency in a range of products including the Wash G1 electric mop, and Supersonic Nural hair dryer.
Ecovacs has used a similar design on its latest budget robot vacuum cleaner with the new PureCyclone station, eliminating dust bags for the auto-empty station and the ongoing costs they bring with them. The station includes a 4-stage HEPA filtration system, which filters particles up to 0.3um. This isn’t quite the HEPA 13 standard of PM2.5 filtration, but it is still a significant reduction in dust particles.
The robovac itself has 8,000Pa suction power, an undulating mop system, and ZeroTangle rollers which have become a prominent feature across robot vacuums this year. For the $999 price point the device sacrifices an auto-lifting mop system, but the N20 Pro Plus will avoid carpet while in mopping mode instead.
Ecovacs also announced the Deebot X5 Pro Omni, the upgraded version of the X2 Omni. The focus has been on advancing the mopping technology with the latest in this line. Notable features include TruEdge mopping as seen in the T30 Pro Omni released earlier this year, and an increase in the mop washing temperature to 70°C. It also uses Intelligent deep mopping, and Instant Re-Mop which assesses how dirty the used water is at the base station and returns to re-mop areas if the water is murkier than usual. The device’s D-shaped design is now slimmer for better manouverability around corners, has 12,800Pa suction power, and also includes the ZeroTangle rollers.
The final announcement is the latest addition to the Combo lineup, the Deebot T30S Combo. This bundle includes the T30 Pro Omni robot vacuum, with a handheld vacuum made by sister-company Tineco bundled in. Both devices live and auto empty to the same base station, which also includes a handy drawer for holding the additional vacuum attachments. These attachments include a crevice tool, a brush, a ZeroTangle rolling head, and as an Australian exclusive, the extendable metal neck. This won’t necessarily make it as powerful as a stick vacuum, but it will help you get into those high corners. The handheld vacuum is a super light 1.2kg design with up to 60 minutes of battery life, and a washable 4-stage HEPA filter. The robot vacuum is the T30 Pro Omni which was released earlier this year. When we reviewed this model we found that some of the hero features needed some work. While the vacuum itself is powerful, the object detection was touch and go, and the extendable mop arm had a tendency to get caught and fall off at times. Still the device absolutely nails the basics, so as a bundle it has excellent potential.
These three products are now available for sale or for pre-order. The N20 Pro Plus is available now for $999 both in store, and online, while the X5 Pro Omni and the T30S Combo can be pre-ordered ahead of a September 5 release date. These retail for $2,499 and $2,299 respectively. Products are available from Bing Lee, Harvey Norman, Retravision, JB Hifi, The Good Guys, Robot Specialists, and through the Ecovacs store.
