Mopping has come a long way in robot vacuums, but Eufy’s latest robovac has taken it to the next level. The S1 Pro comes with a mop roller similar to the kind of technology we see in high-end hard floor cleaners.

Eufy is using a similar design to Dyson’s Wash G1 - a cold water roller which cleans itself as it goes. As it mops the TurboWash roller scrapes dirty water from the roller and vacuums it back up to the dirty water tank, in turn saturating the roller again with clean water. This creates a perpetual cleaning solution, stopping dirty mop water being reused across the floor. You see it a lot in hard floor cleaners, but robot vacuums for the most part have not adopted this technology. Until now, as it would seem.

Along with the rolling mop head, the S1 Pro uses 8,000pa suction power. This is quite a bit below what we have seen in other top tier robot vacuum models. Ecovacs’ latest caps out at 12,000pa as a point of comparison. Still it should be more than enough to handle the usual debris you’ll encounter around the home.

Notably the S1 doesn’t have any kind of edge cleaning technology persay, which we have seen in every robot vacuum northward of the $2,500 pricepoint this year. Roborock, Ecovacs, Dreame, and everything in between have had some kind of extendable mop arm in its arsenal, but this seems to be missing from Eufy’s premium offering. It does note that the square design gets into corners more efficiently however. Thats not to say there isn’t potential - we’ve seen Kickstarter projects with telescopic roller mop heads so fingers crossed this is in the pipeline.

It does, however have an all-inclusive base station. Equipped to self-empty both the vacuum and the mop, the Pro S1 claims to handle up to 68 days before needing the vacuum bag changed from the station.

Eufy’s Pro S1 is available now for $2,699 from JB Hi Fi, The Good Guys and eufy.com/au
