The CordZero A9X vacuum line up from LG comes in three variants, all with auto-empty stations, powerful 280W suction, and at the high end a robot vacuum cleaner.

The A9CX Elite is the latest addition to the CordZero range and features an A9X Ultra stick vacuum on an elevated platform, with an integrated robot vacuum cleaner dock underneath. While there is no information as of yet about the robovac specs, we do know that it auto empties directly into the base station. We can assume that it is similar to the LG Robo Vac R5T - LG’s only auto emptying device, but we’ll update this article once we know more.

Apart from the robovac, the stick vacuums across the range are all but identical. All the devices come with a Dual Floor nozzle capable of working across carpet and hard floors, a mini Power Drive head, and a 2-in-1 crevice tool. The A9X Ultra and Elite also include the Spray Mop Nozzle which functions as an electric mop.

In many ways this new LG range is taking a lot from big players in the vacuum space. Both the Spray Mop Nozzle and Dual Floor Max Nozzles come with an LED light reminiscent of Dyson’s Detect heads. These LEDs shine on the ground and illuminate the dust you wish you couldn’t see. When I first tested the Dyson Detect I got real weird with it. What I saw under my entertainment unit will continue to haunt my dreams, but it did result in a more in depth clean.

Both the Misting Head and the self-emptying (and charging) tower are similar to Samsung’s Bespoke Jet vacuum - which just so happens to be our favourite stick vacuum. In both cases the self-emptying tower has a vacuum bag inside, and automatically pulls the debris out from the dustbin. It is the easiest, and neatest way to empty a stick vacuum, and quite frankly more manufacturers should use it.

Battery life ranges from just 6 minutes, through to 60 minutes depending on the mode. Turbo mode will tear through the 2400mAh capacity in 6 minutes, normal mode will take 15 minutes with a nozzle or 30 without, while low power mode yields 60 minutes without a nozzle and 20 minutes with. While these stats are significantly lower than other stick vacuums, the A9X range all come with two additional batteries that can be swapped out mid clean.

LG’s A9X range also connects to the ThinQ app, so you can see stats across your clean, battery levels, and filter status.

Both the A9X Auto and the A9X Ultra are available now for $1,399, and $1,599 respectively. The A9CX Elite with the integrated robot vacuum cleaner is set to go on sale August 24 for $2,499.
