Tineco’s highest selling product worldwide, the Floor One S5 Extreme Floor Washer is now available Harvey Norman in Australia. The device is what we in the business call “a really fancy mop”. Equipped with a self-cleaning microfibre roller, an 800ml clean water tank, and centrifugal self-cleaning at the base station, it is a direct competitor to products like the Dyson Wash G1, and the Roborock Flexi Pro Range.

The Floor One S5 uses the same internal brush scraper design as its sibling the S7 Steam in order to clean the roller as it goes. An internal brush scraper pulls the debris off, sucking up the dirty water while rinsing the brush again with fresh water. When on the self-cleaning stand, the S5 uses this same mechanism to clean off the roller entirely, and allow it to air dry while the device recharges.

Tineco has also brought the Floor One S6 FlashDry Floor Washer to Harvey Norman, which is similar to the S5 but with more advanced self-cleaning technology. Rather than using room temperature water, the FlashDry heats up the water to 70℃ during self-cleaning, and uses hot air after the cleaning cycle to effectively clean and dry the rollers and the tank.

Both of these devices use Tineco’s iLoop Smart Cleaning Sensor which automatically adjusts water flow, and suction depending on the mess it encounters. When we tested the S7 Steam this auto function worked great on everyday debris, but it is important to note that neither of these new products have a steam function. Still, during demonstrations they both performed well against sugar, tomato sauce, milk, and cereal on hard linoleum floors, picking up the mess in one slow pass.

Using the automatic mop and suction settings, Tineco claims the battery should last 35 minutes on both models, which is about the same as the Roborock Flexi Pro range. For comparison, the eufy Mach V1 Ultra steam mop and vacuum is rated to 82 minutes.

Ordinarily retailing for $749 for the S5, and $899 for the S6, neither are exactly cheap. Still these are two of the more affordable products within Tineco’s cordless S range. Both have launched at a discount however, with the S5 sitting at just $599, and the S6 at $699.
