Another MVNO is moving in on international roaming, with Belong announcing a new add-on that targets those looking to travel abroad.

As opposed to many of the other mobile providers that offer international roaming in Australia, Belong's take on international roaming is a one-size-fits-all deal.

$30 gets you 3GB of data, unlimited SMS, and 150 minutes of calls with a 15-day expiry period. It's not the cheapest travel pack out there, but it's a pretty decent amount of value for the sum.

For comparison, Tangerine offers two travel packs that add roaming coverage to its mobile plans. One of these is priced at $25 and includes 1GB of data, 60 calls, 60 texts and 5-day expiry. The other comes in at $50 and comes with 2GB of data, 150 calls, 150 texts and 10-day expiry.

Those who sign up for Belong's new roaming add-on will be able to use it in any of a total of thirty different countries. The list here includes Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Latvia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zeland, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, USA, and Vanuatu.

Regardless of where you're planning to travel, you'll also need one of Belong's SIM-Only mobile plans to sign up for the provider's roaming add-on. You can find these in the widget below.

In addition to the new paid add-on, Belong is also rolling out a free basic roaming service for all customers. If the Telstra-backed MVNO is your telco of choice, you'll get access to WiFi calls when overseas for free.

You'll also be able to receive texts, though not send any (unless you have the $30 add-on). Still, it's easy to imagine how it could come in handy in a world where more and more services rely on SMS for security.

The one catch worth noting here is that customers signed up to Belong's 1GB plans are eligible for neither the new roaming add-on nor the free WiFi calling service. Otherwise, both are available from this week.
