No, that’s not a typo in the heading: it’s add-on singular, not international roaming add-ons, plural. While other mobile providers have multiple international roaming packs and others offer a flat daily rate, Belong takes a different approach with its international roaming add-on.

Pay $30 for 3GB of data, unlimited standard SMSes, plus 150 call minutes for making and receiving calls. Assuming you don’t use up all the calls and data, Belong’s international roaming has a 15-day expiry. Better yet, you can purchase Belong’s travel pack well in advance of travel because the add-on has a 365-day expiry. The 15-day timer only starts when you head to an eligible country, and you can also add another travel pack as needed.

Belong international roaming is available to all mobile customers but not those with a data-only plan. The only other main disclaimer is you can’t have any outstanding payments on your mobile account. With that out of the way, log in to your Belong account and select ‘International roaming’ when you’re overseas in an eligible destination to use calls, SMS and data.

Belong international roaming covers 48 eligible destinations, albeit with some disclaimers. Coverage in India excludes Bihar, Uttar Pradesh East and West Bengal. If you’re travelling to Guernsey, data is excluded but the travel pack will work for SMS and call minutes. At the time of writing, Belong was trialling international roaming in Bulgaria, Estonia, Luxembourg and Romania, so those countries might be covered, too (though it’s not guaranteed).
