Boost Mobile brags about new international roaming packs
Boost Mobile is introducing a trio of prepaid options for Aussies looking to travel over the holiday season and beyond.
Billed as an add-on available to existing Boost Mobile customers (with or without an active recharge), the first of these new prepaid options comes in at $20 and includes 1GB of data, 15 minutes of calls and 15 texts. The Boost Mobile International Roaming Small add-on expires after three days but covers a whopping 40 countries.
The full list here includes Canada, China, Croatia, Czech, Republic, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, The Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Samoa, Serbia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, UK, USA, Vanuatu and Vietnam.
The Boost Mobile International Roaming Medium pack covers the same 40 destinations, but ups the amount of included coverage to 3GB, 30 minutes of calls and 15 minutes of text. It'll run you $30 but expires after 7 days.
Finally, the aptly-named International Roaming Large pack is priced at $40 but provides even more data over a longer period of time. You get 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calls, 60 texts and 14 days expiry.
While these new roaming packs can't quite compete with Vodafone's famed $5-per-day roaming on ease of use, they do come in as slightly cheaper price if you're looking at things in a certain light.
Broken out over 14 days, the Boost Mobile's $40 option works out to be around $3 per day. That said, these prepaid packs do come with a far fewer eligible destinations and a few more terms and conditions. Those looking for the right fit ahead of their next overseas trip should definitely do their research before pulling the trigger on either.
Boost Mobile general manager Jason Haynes said that Australians have a natural thirst for travel that's gone unquenched over the last two and a half years and now faces fresh new challenges.
Boost Mobile's new international roaming options are available now via the Boost Mobile app. As mentioned, you don't need an active Boost recharge in order to sign up for one but you do need a Boost Account.
If these new travel-focused options have you curious about what signing up for one might look like, Boost currently have a decent spread of prepaid options on offer. Be sure to check out the widget below for a round-up of popular plans available through the Telstra-affiliated mobile provider.
