Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 are now available in Australia. Apple's latest smartphone boasts some top-notch tech but if you want the best of the best, you've gotta go Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro is bigger than ever, with a 6.3-inch screen on the iPhone 16 Pro and a whopping 6.9-inch screen on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Both phones also come with a souped-up A18 Pro processor, Apple Intelligence, and updated cameras which offer better ultrawide photos and clearer low-light shots.

Looking to get the iPhone 16 Pro on a plan? Here are some of your best options available from Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max

Local pricing for the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $2,149 for the 256GB model (there's no 128GB 16 Pro Max.) It's not cheap but it is cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro Max was at launch, so that's something. This year, the 16 Pro Max doesn't have as many exclusive features, just a bigger 6.9-inch display and some of the slimmest bezels of any smartphone on the market.

To get an idea of how much an iPhone 16 Pro max is going to cost you, all you've got to do is spread the outright cost over 24 or 36 months, and add the monthly cost of your phone plan.

iPhone 16 Pro vs iPhone 16 Pro Max

Bigger and better? Or just bigger?

Last year, the iPhone 15 Pro Max maintained a very slight edge over the 15 Pro thanks to its 5x optical zoom capabilities. This year, the only difference between the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max is the display size. Otherwise, they're practically the same smartphone.
