OPPO today announced local availability for its latest flagship phone: the Find X8 Pro.

The Find X8 Pro will be available locally from today, exclusively through JB Hi-Fi. It’s priced at $1,799 and will be available online and in-store.

The launch is notable as the Find X8 Pro is the first flagship phone OPPO has launched in Australia since the Find X5 family in 2022. The Find X6 and Find X7 family were only available in China.

Headling features include a camera setup with four 50MP lenses. The primary lens, ultra-wide lens, 3x telephoto lens, and 6x telephoto lens all share the same resolution, which is pretty unusual for a phone.

These lenses are joined by some AI photography features including AI-enhanced long-range zoom, a sharpening tool for blurry photos, and a tool that removes reflections.

One other camera-related feature is OPPO's take on the iPhone 16 family's Camera Control. As with Camera Control, the Find X8 Pro's Quick Button can open the camera app and take photos. It also works as a tiny trackpad so you can swipe on it to zoom in and out. Unlike Camera Control, it doesn't support a half-press.

Other specifications for the Find X8 Pro include a 6.78-inch display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, eSIM support, IP68 water resistance, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,910mAh battery. The battery supports both wireless and wired fast charging. Local Find X8 Pro variants have 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

OPPO is promising five years of operating system updates and six years of security updates for the Find X8 Pro.

You’ll be able to get the phone in a choice of black or pearl white.
