Best Pixel 9 pre-order deals: Save up to $800

Overnight Google announced the new Pixel 9 line up, and with that comes some impressive pre-order deals from Australian telcos. 

Optus is offering device discounts across the entire Pixel 9 range when you choose a 24 or 36-month repayment plan. The Pixel 9 comes with a $600 discount. Vodafone on the other hand is offering a similar deal, but to the tune of $200 across every handset. On top of that, Vodafone customers can trade-in an old device and receive an additional $500 bonus credit towards the Pixel 9. While Telstra will give you a free Pixel Tablet with Charging Speaker Dock on Pixel 9 pre-orders.

These deals are valid on 12, 24, and 36-month plans with Telstra and Vodafone, but not on 12-month plans for Optus. You need to stick out your whole term to receive the discount from Optus and Vodafone, if you opt to pay your phone out early you’ll forfeit it.

It is important to remember that Telstra will increase its SIM-only prices by $3-$4/month from August 27, 2024. So the plan you sign up for now will be more expensive by the time you get your phone.

Vodafone and Optus have the same kind of deals running for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL. On Optus these handsets come with an $800 discount instead, while it sticks at $200 for Vodafone. The trade-in bonus also stays at $500 for Vodafone. If you want to go with Telstra you’ll still get the free Pixel Tablet with the 9 Pro XL, but there are no incentives for pre-ordering the Pixel 9 Pro through Big T.

This can be done through the Google Redemption Portal and must be submitted before September 30, 2024. Note that you will need your new phone’s IMEI number to claim the tablet.

Similarly to the other handsets, Vodafone and Optus will give you a $200 and $800 discount over the life your Pixel foldable plan, respectively. The trade-in bonus jumps up to $700 at Vodafone.

Although Telstra isn't offering discount on the other handsets, you can get $800 off the 9 Pro Fold over the course of the plan. This is available on 12, 24 and 36-month plans but not if you purchase the device outright.
