Revealed at this year's Samsung Unpacked Event alongside an all-new Galaxy Z Fold 4, two new smartwatches and a pair of wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the latest version of Samsung's flexible foldable. As with the Z Flip 4, the Z Fold 4 is an incremental upgrade without many headline features to write home about. But the few hardware improvements it has seen seek to fortify the (sometimes) faulty design inherent to many foldables.

When does the Galaxy Z Fold release in Australia?
From the 2nd of September 2022, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 phones will be available for purchase on a plan and through Samsung's usual retail partners.
Australian's can place their preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 from the 11th of August, and will be eligible for a decent range of preorder bonuses through the Samsung Store, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone until the day before the phone's release (September 1st).

How much does the Galaxy Z Fold 4 cost in Australia?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is available in three storage variants: 256GB, 512GB and 1TB (a Samsung Store exclusive in Australia). Locally, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 starts at $2,499 for the 256GB, going up to $2,649 for the 512GB and $2,999 for the 1TB model. This year, the 128GB variant is exclusive to the Z Flip 4.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 isn't anyone's idea of affordable. If you've got $2,499 minimum to fork out upfront, more power to you but if you'd prefer to pay things off over time, Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Woolworths Mobile all offer the Galaxy Z Fold 4 on 24 and 36-month payment plans.
