If you want to control your monthly mobile spending, a great place to start is with a Prepaid mobile plan. And some of the cheapest Prepaid mobile plans are available on the Vodafone network. If you want to buy a Prepaid plan with network owner Vodafone, here’s what you need to know.

Vodafone prepaid plan features

Prepaid providers tend to disagree about what constitutes an actual month when it comes to payment terms. Either it’s 28 days, 30 days or the same day each month as part of monthly terms. Vodafone treats the bulk of its plans as a 28-day affair, meaning you must recharge every 28 days if you want to keep using your phone.

Unlike other Prepaid providers, all of Vodafone’s "monthly" Prepaid plans offer “infinite data”, meaning if you burn through your allocated max-speed allowance, you can still use the internet albeit with 1.5Mbps capped speed for whatever remains of those 28 days. Vodafone’s 28-day Prepaid plans also come with a call allowance and data banking. You can also take advantage of the Vodafone 5G network with a Vodafone Prepaid plan, too, as long as it’s available in your neck of the woods.

How to top-up with a Vodafone Prepaid recharge

There are multiple ways to top-up with a new recharge plan for your Vodafone Prepaid service. According to Vodafone, the easiest way is to use either Express Recharge or My Vodafone, neither of which use your Prepaid data.

Alternatively, recharge by sending a text message to 1511 with a code, then use saved payment details on the My Credit balance. You can also call 1511 from a Vodafone handset and follow the prompts to use either a valid payment method or voucher to top up. Payment methods include vouchers, My Credit, PayPal, credit card or debit card.

Vodafone also has an automatic-recharge feature that you have to manually opt-in for. Note that if you haven’t recharged your Vodafone Prepaid service within 120 days, your number will be disconnected and placed into quarantine.
