When is the new iPhone 16 coming out?

In early September, Apple held its 'It's Glowtime' event where it officially announced the iPhone 16 as well as new AirPods, and the Apple Watch Series 10.  

It also confirmed the iPhone 16 pre-order and release dates for Australia. Here's when to expect the iPhone 16:

1. 10 September: Apple iPhone 16 announced ✔️
2. 13 September: iPhone 16 pre-orders are available ✔️ 
3. 20 September: Official iPhone 16 release date in Australia

Apple's iPhone 16 event was livestreamed on the 10th of September. While there weren't many surprised left after all the rumours and leaks, the company did confirm the release timings for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max (as well as release dates for the new Apple Watch and AirPods.)

We all know Apple loves to do its business on a Friday. Pre-orders for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max went live on Friday the 13th of September, but the device is now on sale in Australia.

You can place an order through major retailers like Amazon if you're looking to buy it outright but if you'd prefer to pay over time, you will be able to pick the iPhone 16 up on a plan through Telstra, Optus and Vodafone. 

One week after pre-orders go live, all four iPhone 16 models will officially be available to purchase on Friday, 20 September. 

If you've pre-ordered your iPhone 16, or you've signed up for a plan, Friday's the day you should expect the courier to come a'knockin' with your new Apple wares.
