Google has delivered on Gemini integration for its true wireless earbuds.

Back when the second-generation Pixel Buds were first announced, the company talked a big game about the earbuds being the first set made with Gemini in mind. However, at launch, this functionality was missing in action.

As of this week, that's no longer the case for both the Pixel Buds 2 and its predecessor.

"Whether you have Pixel Buds Pro, Pixel Buds A-Series or the original Pixel Buds, you can talk to Gemini to get walking directions, ask for info from your emails, or brainstorm out loud with Gemini Live."

Those looking to test out the functionality for themselves will need to update their earbuds to the latest software. Once you've done that, you can activate the feature using the phrase "Hey Google, let's talk."

Other features introduced by this month's Pixel Drop are integration between Gemini and the Screenshots app, an underwater photography mode and seasonal allergy alerts for the Pixel Weather app. You can check out the full rundown over on the Google blog.

In his review of the Pixel Buds 2, Adam Smith came away pretty impressed.

"The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are such an improvement on the first generation that it makes them worth seriously considering amongst a sea of wireless earbuds," he said.
