Samsung’s first smart ring is available has finally arrived in Australia.

Priced at $699, the Samsung Galaxy Ring can be found through both the company’s retail and online channels from today.

First shown off back at Mobile World Congress, Samsung's first finger-friendly wearable promises to offer a complementary level of fitness tracking in a more compact form-factor than a traditional smartwatch like the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Made from polished titanium, the Galaxy Ring is just 2.6mm thick. Despite that slim profile, the wearable packs in five sensors that cover heart-rate, sleep and activity tracking. The hardware is also built to last with 10ATM water resistance and IP68 durability.

Australia is the first country in the Southeast Asia and Oceania region to launch the Galaxy Ring. Aussies looking to pick up the wearable will have nine size and three colors (black, gold and silver) to choose from.

If you're buying online, Samsung will set you up with a sizing kit before sending you the wearable proper. Australian consumers are also getting the benefit of an extended 'change of mind' warranty

Another thing you'll get when you order the Galaxy Ring is a jewelry box-like charger case. While the ring itself is good to go for seven days on a single charge, the charger steps in where that window ends. The accessory also features a multi-purpose button that can be pressed to a trigger a visual indicator of battery life or set the ring into pairing mode.

According to Samsung, the charger takes around 80 minutes to fully top up the Galaxy Ring. Unlike its Oura counterpart, this charger also has its own battery so you can use it on the go.

Samsung Australia told Reviews.org that it would be looking to sell the charger separately later down the line but would offer replacement cases for customers via their customer service channels in the interim.

Although the Galaxy Ring can be used with any Android smartphone, Samsung are keeping a few features in reserve for those who pair it up with one of its devices. These Samsung-exclusive features include pinch-based gesture controls, SmartThings Find integration and faster pairing.

In Australia, the Samsung Galaxy Ring goes on sale from today at a recommended retail price of $699.
