Apple revealed its latest range of AirPods at this morning's 'It's Glowtime' event, where the Apple iPhone 16 and Apple Watch Series 10 were announced.
There were two new products announced: AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation in addition to an updated set of AirPods Max with new colours and USB-C charging.
The AirPods 4 don't look dramatically different from the 3rd generation AirPods at a glance, but Apple has refined the design to better suit a wider range of ears. With the addition of the H2 processing chip, the standard AirPods 4 can also use Apple's impressive spatial audio and voice isolation features. It also brings gestures, like nodding and shaking your head to respond to calls, to the standard AirPods.
A second pair of AirPods 4 will also be available, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation will be a half-step towards AirPods Pro, bringing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to standard AirPods at a price. It also brings the features that come with ANC, such as Transparency Mode, Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness; features that dynamically adjust the level of noise cancellation based on your situation or environment.
With 30 hours of combined battery life, the new AirPods 4 will also be compatible with MagSafe and Qi wireless charging.
In addition to the new AirPods 4, Apple announced a smaller update to the AirPods Max. In addition to the expected USB-C update, the updated AirPods Max will be available in a new range of colours and recieve personalised audio features.
