Twigby Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which means that it doesn’t actually operate its own cell phone network. Instead, it uses Verizon's network to bring coverage to its customers.

But the biggest problem with MVNOs isn't coverage. It’s data speeds. The company that owns the network will often slow down customers on MVNOs when the network is busy, prioritizing its own customers. This is called data deprioritization.

Twigby Mobile customers can experience data deprioritization at any time. That means you won’t have super reliable data for streaming video, Zooming in for a work meeting, or owning n00bs in PUBG Mobile.

The other biggest drawback to Twigby Mobile is the price changes. All of those super-low prices you see here (and in Twigby Mobile's advertisements) are just promotional. In fact, they will all go up by $10 after your first three months of service.

This means that the $10 plan that gives you 5GB of data will actually end up being $20 a month! Yikes.

If Twigby Mobile is the dollar store of cell phone carriers, then T-Mobile is more like Whole Foods. It sells some premium products, but they cost a lot more. Here’s a look at the company’s plans.

All of these plans come with 5G access, unlimited DVD-quality video streaming, and service in Mexico and Canada. Plus, each plan has its own special perks, which we’ll break down below.

• Essentials: This is the cheapest T-Mobile plan, and it comes with some drawbacks. Just like with Twigby Mobile, your data on this plan will be subject to deprioritization after 50GB when the network is busy. Plus your video streaming quality will be capped at 480p.
• Magenta: With this plan you’ll get 5GB of high-speed 4G LTE hotspot data. Plus, you’ll have a monthly high-speed data cap of 100GB! That’s more than most people need.
• Magenta MAX: You can truly max out with 40GB of hotspot data, worldwide data coverage, 4K video streaming, a free Netflix subscription, and no high-speed data cap!
• Go5G Plans: T-Mobile's Go5G plans are basically just pricier versions of its Magenta plans. With Go5G plans, you get more hotspot data and more high-speed data in Canada and Mexico than with Magenta plans.

One big benefit of all these plans is the network performance. According to data we gathered from over 100,000 mobile customers, T-Mobile has the fastest data speeds in the industry!

If you’re 55 years old or older, a first responder, or an active military employee, then T-Mobile wants to hook you up with a steep discount. Here’s a look at some of the deals you can nab.

T-Mobile Tuesdays is a huge perk for T-Mobile wireless and home internet customers. Users get freebies, discounts, and the chance to win prizes via the T-Mobile Tuesdays app.

• Up to 40% off car rentals

T-Mobile's perks change weekly and vary depending on where you live. And because not every service is available nationwide, some users are even trading codes on Reddit with fellow T-Mobilers. That means if you live in Florida and can't use your In-N-Out code, you can swap it for someone's Culver's code in Idaho. 

Twigby Mobile wows potential customers with amazing promotional prices, but there are some big drawbacks, like slow data speeds and price hikes. Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s starting prices are much higher, but it gives you better performance in every category.

If you want to get the most bang for your buck, there’s simply no better deal than family plans. You can get more data, better perks, and cheaper prices while making sure that everyone in your home is connected.

But only one of these two carriers actually offers real family plans, and it’s T-Mobile. While Twigby Mobile technically lets you add more than one line to a single account, you won’t get any discounts or extra features for doing so.
